The DOT Announced The Result Of The Mobile Spectrum Auction for AJK, GB

If you live in Gilgit or Azad Kashmir, this is fantastic news for you. On September 28th, 2021, the PTA held a mobile service in Gilgit and Azad Kashmir, which was undoubtedly one of the most important things to do.

According to reports, four different mobile carriers submitted bids including JAZZ (PMCL), Zong (CMPAK), and Ufone (PTML). Furthermore, the Telenor network submitted their bids to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, which were subsequently approved and clarified.

We all were aware of the network connections in these cities, so it is surely a great thing for the residents of these places.

The mobile spectrum auction for AJK and GB was held on September 28, 2021 in Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, as well as Kashmir. The birds were sent to the PTA by all of the networks listed above for 2100MHz and 1800MHz spectrum bands. Improved connection quality services will be available in AJK and GB as a result.

They have been operating since April 2021. Though there are no details of revenue invested in this auction yet, we would be able to know the total price once the process is concluded

The sale was held at the PTA head office in Islamabad. According to PTA, two operators took part in the auction, including Jazz and Zong for the 1800 MHz band. The bidding concluded with Zong being chosen as winner of the 1800 MHz band after 18 rounds. In contrast, Telenor’s network retained its place as auction winner.
