In a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to its strategic partnership with China. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Third Belt and Road Forum, attended by leaders and delegates from 140 nations.
President Xi welcomed the premier and his delegation, which included notable figures from Pakistan’s caretaker government. In response, President Xi expressed China’s readiness to strengthen their traditional friendship and deepen their bilateral partnership, particularly in accelerating the development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and working towards regional peace and development.
The interim PM stressed that Pakistan would stand by China and prevent any actions undermining this vital partnership. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the “One China policy,” emphasizing that their commitment would be demonstrated through actions, not just words.
Prime Minister Kakar expressed his admiration for China’s success and the opportunities it offered to Pakistan. He described President Xi’s proposals as a stabilizing factor in the international order and a pragmatic response to global challenges.
The meeting reaffirmed the strong bond between Pakistan and China and their commitment to mutual progress.
