SC takes notice of websites against transgenders

Supreme Court on Wednesday took notice of the websites against transgenders and summoned suggestions regarding rights of transgenders in two weeks.

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar said that the Supreme Court (SC) will hire two transgender persons.

“In our society, transgender people are subjected to ridicule. It is our top most priority to give them their rights,” He asserted.

The court also took exception to a website which is reportedly involved in spreading misleading information against transgender persons.

The court was informed that an NGO named Blue Van had established the website which claims as many as 500 transgender persons have been murdered.
