Nawaz, Maryam, Safdar’s parole extended

The Punjab government on Wednesday decided to extend the parole of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, her daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (retd.) Safdar for three days to attend the last rites of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz on Friday.

They will remain within the boundaries of Jati Umra and will only be allowed to meet their family members.

They were escorted by police to the Nur Khan airbase from where they were taken to Lahore. Residence of Sharif family in Jati Umra has been declared sub-jail following their arrival.
