Karachi Rattled by Shallow 3.1 Magnitude Earthquake

Late Monday night, Karachi experienced a 3.1 magnitude earthquake, as confirmed by the National Seismic Monitoring Centre in Islamabad. The quake, which occurred near Quaidabad, Karachi, at a depth of 15 kilometers, shook several areas within the city, including Shah Latif, Landhi, Muzaffarabad Colony, and Muslimabad Colony. While the tremor caused panic and prompted residents to leave their homes, there have been no reports of damage or injuries in these affected areas.

In a separate incident, late Sunday night, Swat and its surrounding regions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa felt a 4.1 magnitude earthquake. This quake’s epicenter was located in the Hindu Kush Mountains at a depth of 110 kilometers. Fortunately, no casualties or property damage have been reported in Swat following this seismic event, as per the National Seismic Monitoring Centre in Islamabad.
