FIA Decides to Arrest Imran Khan If he Fails to Appear Before the Investigation Board in Prohibited Funding Case

Pakistan Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) may arrest former prime minister Imran Khan if he does not respond to the notices related to prohibited funding case or does not appear before the investigation committee, as per the resources.

FIA will submit an appeal in the court of law and get an arrest permission form to arrest Khan to make him accountable for the party funds, accounts, and other financial details. However, the final arrest decision will be taken after the issuance of “three notices”, the sources claimed.

It is notable that ECP ruled that PTI received illegal foreign funds after which the investigation started against the party. After ECP’s claim and verdict, show cause notices were issued to Chairman PTI Imran Khan and other senior leaders asking for the details related to foreign funds they received along with the bank details.

According to the concerned authorities, the party did not provide any satisfactory answer nor did Khan appear before the FIA investigation team even after issuing the second notice on Friday 19 August, 2022.

PTI received the first notice on 10 August 2022. However, Imran Khan refused to appear or give an answer claiming that he is neither accountable to FIA nor could it force him to provide party funding details.

Maybe FIA issued a final notice at the end of August to PTI. As per the reports, “The FIA committee has collected enough evidences to prove Imran guilty of hiding the factual position from the ECP,”
