On August 25, 2022, Former Prime Minister Imran Khan reaches Anti Terrorism Court in a terrorism case filed against him for threatening female judge during a protest rally. ATC Judge, Raja Jawwad Abbas heard the case and approved Khan’s Interim bail against a surety of Rs100,000, till 1st September.
Imran Khan appeared before the anti-terrorism court today for pre-arrest bail in a terrorism case. The case was filed against him on August 20 under Anti-Terror Act. On August 22, 2022, Imran Khan’s 2-day transitional bail was approved by IHC on the request of his lawyers. After granting bail, the court ordered Khan to be produced before the concerned court by August 25.
Khan’s counsels Muhammad Ali Bukhari and Babr Awan have filed a petition in ATC court to gain protective bail for their client. In the petition, the counsels termed the case as “political victimization” stating that the case is filed to take “revenge”.
ATC Judge, Raja Jawwad Abbas approved Khan’s interim bail after hearing the plea of lawyers. However, Imran Khan will appear again before the court on September 1.
On the occasion of Khan’s appearance in the anti-terrorism court in Islamabad, strict security arrangements were made. Islamabad police were deployed around the Judicial complex while all the roads leading to the complex were blocked. Many PTI supporters were also gathered around the Judicial complex in support of their leader.
